Christopher Kevin prefers to go by his middle name Kevin. The family began using that name at his request when he was in the 5th grade.

On 8 June 2007, final approval was given by the court for Kevin's adoption of Deborah's children from a previous marriage. For months before this, the kids had been using Jenkins as their name in informal situations allowing this. Sam and Logan were very excited and could hardly wait for the required time while the approval was pending for theirlast name to be officially Jenkins.
